Have you ever struggled to get the desired results or responses when using AI powered tools like ChatGPT or Canava? Even when you're designing with AI on ALTAVA, it can sometimes be tricky to achieve the exact design you want. But don’t worry—we’re here to help! In this blog, we’ll share tips on how to write prompts that will bring you closer to the exact outfit design you envision.

1. Write prompts in strategic order

We need to understand the mechanics of the AI generator and write prompts strategically. When giving prompts to AI, the order of instructions is crucial because the AI processes information step by step, starting with the first description. Therefore, the default value (like color, structure, or background) must be set first, so that details can be overwritten.

For example:

  • If you say, “The shirt is all white” followed by “Add three red flowers on the chest,” the result will be clean and organized.

  • However, if you say “Draw three flowers” and then add, “Oh, and the shirt is all white,” the flowers might get hidden or misaligned because the AI processes the flowers first, without considering the shirt color.

Also, AI gives priority to what comes first, using the initial description as the foundation for interpreting the rest of the prompt. This means that the elements you emphasize at the beginning will shape how the AI interprets the rest of your instructions.

📌 Tips: In what order should we write prompts for AI?

To ensure clear and stable results:
  • Start with core elements (like base colors or main patterns).
  • Then, add any additional details or decorations.
In this way, the AI understands what’s most important and can organize everything logically.

2. Use concrete words

When writing prompts for a 3D outfit generator, using concrete words helps the AI apply your ideas more precisely to the design. Instead of relying on vague or abstract terms like “cool,” “fancy,” or “pretty,” focus on specific, descriptive language.

Abstract vs. Concrete:

  • Make stylish pants
  • Add a camo pattern in olive green with golden zipper details on the pockets
  • Add something cool on the back
  • Add a blue dragon design on the back of the jacket
Concrete words give the AI clear visual elements to apply to the 3D template—like color, fabric, texture, pattern, and placement. This leads to more accurate and predictable results.

📌 Tips: What kind of concrete words can we use in prompts for AI?

  • Use specific materials (denim, leather, velvet)
  • Add clear colors and patterns (neon green checkerboard, dark floral print)
  • Mention placement (on the sleeves, around the collar, across the chest)
Being specific doesn’t just make your prompt more detailed—it gives the AI the information it needs to bring your idea to life, exactly where and how you imagined it.

💡

A good result starts with a good prompt.

Remember, start with the essentials and save the details for later. The more specific your prompt, the closer your design will be to your vision.
